Duo Profile

Tish and Paul met while attending  college in Denton and began performing as a duo shortly thereafter. Both became interested in music at a young age. Paul studied piano at age 5 before switching to guitar as his main instrument. Tish began singing in church ensembles at age 12 and moved on to writing and performing her own songs by age 15. While majoring in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas, Paul won a collegiate Downbeat Award and performed and toured with their world renown lab bands. Tish studied Classical and Jazz voice, both at the University and privately. After receiving his Bachelors Degree, Paul worked with a variety of R&B, pop, rock and jazz bands throughout Texas, the Midwest, Canada and Mexico, including the duo and  such local favorites as Dallas Brass & Electric, Bill Tillman, Tom Braxton and Random Axis. While making up half of the guitar and vocal duo, Tish also became a regular on the Opry circuit and went back to her church roots becoming a member of the Spirit of Jazz, a Christian jazz group that performed at Christian events around the metroplex and Tocar, a Christian cover band. She has studied Worship Leading at CFNI and feels a calling to lead worship. Paul has taught  at the National Guitar Summer Workshop with some of the Northeast’s top teachers and clinicians, in addition to his active performance and recording schedule, he continues to teach privately at Brook Mays Music Company in Lewisville, Texas. 

   The Duo’s sound utilizes well crafted songs and arrangements that draw from ,jazz, blues, folk and pop idioms. Tishs strong featured voice is full of presence, while  Pauls imaginative accompaniment helps propel the music forward. The material they perform always maintains an intensity that attracts attention and interest.
